Sean Paul to Headline Free Caribbean Night @ Wingate Concert Series - August 24th, 2009

Nuttin like the good old free summer concert series at Wingate Park. Every year I normally find an excuse to go over to a friend who lives closest to the park and watch from the protection of an elevated stoop all the fuckery that turns out for anything free. Did I mention that I hurt for my people?

I happened to actually go once- the time that Lauren Hill performed- an it was well worth it to watch Lauren perform Nervous Breakdown- Brooklyn Edition as she sang in a leather jacket and clown make-up in 86 degree weather. Oh the memories...

I shall not discuss any references to her looking like the old lady on the train, but the devil is wicked, so i cannot stop myself from thinking it.. *sigh*

Way any, I just got the release for the line up this year, and keeping in tradition with their Caribbean Night, on August 24th this year they have none other than Sean Paul (insert a "dutty-yeah" sound effect here), alongside Mighty Sparrow. Other performers for this years line up include Keisha Coles (crossing my fingers and hoping her momma Frankie is her opening act),
